A few years ago, March 2013 to be exact, I saw this car parked in downtown Roswell. Usually it seems that newer rims get put on older cars, E46 wheels on an E36, but this seems to be an exception. I guess it looks alright, probably helps that they’re M3 wheels.
Also, as far as the picture itself goes, I think there was some damage on the car when I took the picture, and I didn’t want to include that in the photo. If you can’t tell, the truck is damaged. Since this was taken over 5 years ago, this car is probably off the roads by now.

Not sure if I'm a fan but appreciate the creativity.

The wheels on my car are from a ‘98 or ‘99, but I do think it was an older E46 now that I think about it.... hmm. In any case, wheels are older than the car.

The starfish S
tyle 24s are
my favourites
Not sure if they work on an E46 though

Yeah, they’re nice wheels, but I feel like they just don’t go as well with the E46.

Haven’t seen it done since.

Yeah those look like they came off a 328i.
1999 was the first model year of the E46, and in the states we only got the 323i and the 328i for the first two years of production. They were replaced with the 325i and the 330i in 2001.

I like it. The color of the car makes me like it even more.
Trying to figure out what year that car is - think it must be a 1999 for that color?

I like the color a lot.
I think you’re probably right on the year, either 99 or 00.

I don’t think that color was available in 00. I ordered mine on 2/ 26/ 00, and if that color was available, I probably would have picked it. Though my 2 previous cars were green, so maybe I was going for a change of pace.

Yep, that’s it. Specifically, they came out of the trunk of an Acura, in some parking lot where I met a CL guy nearly 10 years ago. The guy probably put RIMMZZZZ on his E46, then couldn’t afford to fix it properly,
sold it to buy a reliable car and sold the OEM
wheels separately.
You know what’s funny, of course I’ve never seen the wheels on another E46 wagon (why would I) but when we went to the Azores a few years ago, one of the first cars I saw in the tiny airport parking lot was an E46 wagon with those wheels. Maybe
a Euro market 328 wagon? I didn’t get close enough to see the badge, we could only see the front and side.

I’ll be honest, I’m not well enough versed with E46s to know exactly when colors were available . Thought, I feel like I’ve seen green 325i’s, so I know there was some green available at some point.

Me either, I just figure I would have picked it if it were available when I got mine. And I can’t recall seeing a pre face lift convertible in that color. But maybe it’s a 2001 325 in the photo.

I use an 11 year old set of Nissan wheels on my 2 year old Subaru:

Doesn’t look bad.

I read the headline and said, No!!!! Then I looked at the picture and looked again. Huh, that actually doesn’t look that bad.

I mostly bought them because they are very strong and light for the size but it does look pretty good too, IMO.

So I was looking for manual green BMWs, and came across this .
I remembered that we had the discussion about what years you could get green on the E46, looks like it might have been available all years, since that one on E36 wheels is either a 99 or 00 and this is an 01.

Such a pretty color!! That’s wild that it was across all years - surprised it wasn't more common.
